We had to put Brownie to sleep on Wednesday, September 5. She went downhill very quickly over the prevous 48 hours and it was obvious that it was time to let her go.... she wasn't happy and she was starting to be in pain.
Brownie came to me with the Ravening Hordes.... one of the good things from a very strange 9 month period of my life. She was always loving, always happy, always ready to welcome a new sibling into the herd. Even after she lost one eye and went blind in the other she still was enjoyng the latest batch of kittens as they played on and around her...
She had a good life, sixteen years is a good run for a mid to large sized dog. She was supposed to die last year, the vet gave her 2 weeks to live in July 2006 so she had a really good two week run :-)
We will miss her - her "brother" Jack is very confused and unhappy that his "sister" Brownie isn't here to snuggle with at night....
Sleep well Brownie....
