So, today Jack had his eco-cardiogram. Left side of his heart is very enlarged and both right and left valves are not working properly. He will be coming home with some meds, which ones not yet determined, and then we wait and see.
If they help, we are looking at 6 months to a year for him
If they don't we are looking at weeks to a couple of months.
Poor little sweetie - I'm guessing someone got the diagnosis this summer and threw him out the front door instead of spending the money treating him. It is such a shame that the breeders are so greedy they won't take the time to breed healthy dogs to each other, just pop the puppies out and into loving families. A small dog like this should have an expected life span of 12-15 years or more instead of 5-8 years.
At least he doesn't give any sign of being uncomfortable most of the time.....
